The Australian Cattle Dog is an intelligent dog, amenable and first- rate at its job of driving cattle, sometimes covering vast distances. Like the Kelpie, it has an equable temperament and makes a loyal companion.

The Australian Cattle Dog has emerged from crossings with the Old English Sheepdog (or Bobtail), Scottish Collies, Dingos and Red Bobtails
